The enhanced survey program generally requires greater attention from the owner with respect to the assessment of the condition of the vessel's hull structure. As the owner is expected to carry out structural inspections, it is also necessary that trained personnel with a certain competence on hull structure conduct the inspections.
New welds need to be inspected for accuracy and flaws
In order to obtain an improved quality of thickness measurements and /or weld inspection, these will be required to be carried out by a company approved by the Classification Society.
