Any piece of a structure that vibrates, radiates acoustic energy. Sound power is the rate at which energy is radiated. The result is sound pressure. Sound pressure is what we hear, or measure with a microphone. M.A.C.E., Inc. can perform regular sound pressure ( level ) measurements, sound analysis and sound intensity measurements.
Measurement of sound pressure and sound intensity.
The picture to the left shows the grid of a loud speaker system and it's energy distribution at a special frequency.
Vector displays of the intensity data helps us to characterize sound fields and the direction of the intensity.
For acceptance- and verification tests and more important for human protection. Too high of a sound pressure may cause hearing damage.
